The Moment that changed everything was a call from the hospital.


My partner, Linda, was having an emergency hysterectomy.

The Silent Struggle of Menopause

Linda's hysterectomy thrust her into menopause, a phase I naively associated with older age and simple discomforts.


The reality hit us hard – it was more than just hot flashes; it was a battle against memory loss, heart disease, thyroid disfunction, weight gain and even hair loss.

What they don’t tell you is that prolonged low estrogen levels lead to osteoporosis, permanent memory loss, increased risk of heart disease, and even cancer.

Where do women turn for solutions? 

The Search for Answers

Doctor after doctor wrote off Linda's symptoms. Its menopause. Its irreversible. All women suffer through.

I refused to accept this.​

As a scientist, I did the only thing I knew how to do. I dove into the existing research. But here's the kicker: There was very little science to turn to. I felt like I was sailing in uncharted waters without a map, relying mostly on collective experiences and limited studies.​

Women deserve better.​

And I certainly knew my partner deserved better.

​So I quit my tenure professor position.


And I became the researcher women needed...

Treatment Breakthrough

Our personal mission turned public as we navigated the world of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and advocated for those in need.


Through our efforts, Linda and many others found hope and healing, reclaiming their lives from the grip of menopause.

The advancements in hormone replacement therapy allowed Linda, and many others, to successfully regulate estrogen and progesterone levels.


But there was a problem... 

Facing My Own Transition

But then I started perimenopause. 


Like many women, I wrote off the symptoms as fatigue and stress. 


Unlike Linda, and all the women we were helping, hormone replacement therapy was not an option for me. Not only do I have a family history of breast cancer, but I have abnormalities in my mammograms.

So, I started to research holistic approaches, because that was the only option available to me. I had to do something to treat my fluctuating hormone levels, or I too would face long-term health decline.


Again, I became the researcher.

Thriving Beyond Menopause

Throughout Linda’s journey, I discovered how medicine can help women, and through my experience I discovered how holistic approaches can help women.


Most importantly, I discovered that while our paths were different, both paths are right. Because they were right for each of us.


In my experience as a menopause advocate, every woman takes a unique path through menopause because there is not one solution that works for every woman.

Menopause isn’t the end of anything but our periods (and good riddance to those).



It’s the age that we get to thrive moreso than ever before.

And I’m here to give women the tools they need to do just that.
